When Patty's husband passed away in 2024, she was faced with not only profound grief but also a daunting tangle of paperwork and administrative tasks. It was a stressful burden at the moment she needed it least. At the same time, Katie, a single mom, realized that while she was everyone's emergency contact, no one had the keys to her own life—her accounts, estate documents, or medical directives—if something were to happen to her.
Why We Built KPSake
We saw firsthand how disorganized, outdated, or inaccessible planning can leave families scrambling during a crisis. Today, our lives are more complex than ever. They include online accounts, digital assets, and medical records in addition to physical property. More people live alone or manage complicated responsibilities without a clear backup plan. Without a secure, organized system, even the most prepared families can be left vulnerable.

Patty Riskind
Known for driving innovation and exponential growth in SaaS and services companies. Over her 30+ year career, Patty founded the first electronic survey company in healthcare, capturing patient experience in real time to improve care delivery. She also served as Chairwoman and CEO of an AI workflow automation company, streamlining processes for easier access to care and care management. She has a track record of increasing revenue by nailing product-market fit, putting the right team in place, and inspiring both employees and customers to embrace innovation.
